November 5th

In the year 1982 at the hands of Vertigo Comics, the artists Alan Moore and David Lloyd created a series of 10 comics based on a future dystopian placing around the 1990s. In this future Britain is isolated virtually the rest of the world and subjected to a dictatorial Government thanks to the fear and the control of its citizens. To fight against this oppressive Government a revolutionary who behind a mask of Guy Fawkes will challenge the authority to overthrow it and thus return freedom arises "V" to all citizens. In the plot "V" concocts a plan to fly the British Parliament on November 5 as it already tried Guy Fawkes in 1605.

The 5 November 1605 is the date in which Guy Fawkes was arrested for after a trial in which is refused to reveal to the rest of the conspirators was executed January 31, 1606.
